As Old As Me

by Joyce

I hope you get to be as old as me.
To soak in many golden moments;
To see the world from wrinkled eyes.

To experience profound loves;
And witness:
Natural, awestruck happenstances.

To stop and take in all the sounds,
And then, listen to the quiet;
Appreciating the solitude.

When you are as old as me,
Use time as your pay check.
Indulge in the presence of leisure.

As you dance to a slower pace
Savor all of your movements,
The gestures of your soul.

Let the time ebb and flow.
Like sleepy laps of the ocean,
Drawing you towards shore.
